Between Frames

presented Saturday, January 10, 3-5pm at Stelo Arts

“Between Frames” took shape as a movement-based performance and artist talk set within a photography installation at Stelo Arts. The installation showcased illuminated negatives, prints of multiple exposures taken on film between 2024-25, and digital multiple exposures taken in 2025 during the Stelo Studio Artist Residency.

This offering explored the themes of permeability and continuity, reaching into the space between photographic frames to ask the question: what secrets about the past and future dwell in these layered and/or underexposed sites of indeterminacy, imagination, and desire?

Group negatives/photos of Ahmad, Delgado Connelly, and Frechette were commissioned by Buckman Journal for the 2026 anthology on the theme, “Cluster.”

The installation also featured multiple exposures taken in New York City during a 2025 rehearsal for “Bottom-Edge-Air (WIP)” by Lu Yim with cast members Ella W-S, Cynthia Chang, Lu Yim, Nami Yamamoto, Takahiro Yamamoto.
